What this extension does

Attach from Dropbox for Gmail is a Chrome extension that lets you browse your Dropbox files from within Gmail’s compose window and insert file share links into your email drafts.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following:

  • Your Dropbox files, folders, or file contents
  • Your Gmail messages, drafts, or contacts
  • Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
  • Your browsing history or activity
  • Usage analytics or crash reports

Data stored locally on your device

The following data is stored exclusively in your browser’s local storage using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

  • Dropbox App Key — the API key you enter to connect your Dropbox account
  • Dropbox access token — the OAuth token issued by Dropbox when you sign in
  • Recent files list — up to 8 recently used file references for the Recently Used tab
  • License key — the license key you enter to activate the extension

Third-party services

The extension communicates directly with the following third-party APIs on your behalf:

  • Dropbox API (api.dropboxapi.com) — to authenticate your account and retrieve your file and folder listings. Your use of Dropbox is governed by Dropbox’s Privacy Policy.
  • Gumroad API (api.gumroad.com) — solely to verify your license key at activation. Only your license key and the product identifier are transmitted. No personal data is sent. Your use of Gumroad is governed by Gumroad’s Privacy Policy.

No data is sent to any server operated by AG LLC.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage — to save your credentials and preferences locally on your device
  • identity — to initiate the Dropbox OAuth sign-in flow
  • Host access to mail.google.com — to inject the Dropbox button into Gmail’s compose toolbar
  • Host access to api.dropboxapi.com and www.dropbox.com — to communicate with Dropbox’s API and complete authentication
  • Host access to api.gumroad.com — to verify your license key

Children’s privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect it. Continued use of the extension after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
